Chicago Dance Crash

Audition Location: Chicago, IL
Audition Date: October 12, 2014; 2pm-5pm

Chicago Dance Crash is looking for multi-disciplined, athletic male and female dancers for our 2015 Performance Season running through November 22, 2015. The 2015 Season will consist of over 50 performances including Chicago-based premiers, educational shows, commercial shoots & events, improv-based shows, and touring opportunities. Company members are paid a monthly rehearsal retainer, performance stipends, and travel/housing. One unpaid, performing apprentice is selected annually. Selected dancers must relocate to Chicago, IL.

Dancers will be given the chance to warm themselves up beforehand and the audition will consist of a contemporary combination, hip hop combination (shoes optional), and solo freestyle performance.

Headshots and resumes are happily accepted but not necessary. There is no fee to audition.

Dancing People Company

Audition Location: mandatory final audition in Ashland, OR

Dancing People Company (DPC) seeks male and female dancers for paid work beginning January 2015. This is a paid position for the final 12 weeks of DPC's season, beginning in mid-January and continuing through mid-May with some weeks off during that period. The contract will be renewed for future seasons if mutually desirable.

The ideal candidate has good body lines, coupled with a suppleness of movement and training in various release techniques. Partnering skills of a Contact Improvisation-style are a must. DPC dancers must be able to learn and retain set choreography quickly and accurately, yet also have a desire to explore through improvisation.

Initial audition by DVD or reel, potential candidates must do a final audition in Ashland, OR.

Live auditions will also be scheduled in Seattle, WA and Eugene, OR in mid-November. Details will be available online by the end of September.

The Dancing Wheels Company

Audition Location: Cleveland, OH
Audition Date: By appointment 

The Dancing Wheels Company, America’s first, professional, physically integrated dance company, is currently seeking to hire a qualified male dancer for an immediate position.  Dancing Wheels is a national touring company that works with highly acclaimed choreographers each year.  Most recent works include full-length pieces from Donald McKayle, Dianne McIntyre, Nai-Ni Chen, Christopher Fleming, Michael Uthoff, Peter Kalivis, and David Rousseve.

The preferred candidate should be proficient in ballet, modern and partnering.  Experience and training required, must be able to work full-time and tour throughout the nation.  Pay scale is commensurate with experience; paid holidays and vacation time are included.

Winifred Haun & Dancers

Audition Location: Chicago, IL
Audution Date: September 28, 2014; 1:00pm-4:00pm

Winifred Haun & Dancers seeks male and female dancers for the 2014-15 Season Contract includes rehearsal & performance pay, performances in the Chicago area and touring.

Qualified candidates will:

  • possess a strong technical background in ballet, modern and jazz and performing experience
  • be available for rehearsals on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:00am to 12:00 noon and some Sundays 1:00pm to 4:00pm
  • have experience with or are willing to learn and possibly perform aerial technique
