Fellowship Program
Application Deadline: February 16, 2012

Dance/USA, the national service organization for professional dance, is thrilled to announce its first-ever Fellowship Program. Committed to leadership development in the professional field of dance, Dance/USA offers its first Fellow the opportunity to work in the organization’s Membership Department.

This opportunity will connect you to the national dance community, raise your awareness of dance in America and field-wide trends, and provide you with practical work experience. This Fellowship is geared toward early career arts administrators who are motivated, curious, posses a strong work ethic, and have a special interest in dance.

The Membership Fellow will work 20 hours per week (from March to May) and 35-40 hours (from May to August). During your Fellowship, you will be integral to the operations of Dance/USA’s Membership Department by communicating with members and non-members on a regular basis, serving as point of contact for two to three special projects within the Department, and assisting the Director in hiring a fall intern. Additionally you will have the opportunity to write an article for our e-Journal, From the Green Room.

As a Membership Fellow you will also receive a stipend of $1875 to be evenly divided over the course of your Fellowship, up to $10 per week to defray local travel expenses, a two year complimentary Dance/USA individual or student membership, and the opportunity to interact with the field at our 2012 Annual Conference in San Francisco.

To apply, submit the following items to Kristen Jackson at kjackson@danceusa.org by February 16, 2012 at 5pm (ET). Please include Membership Fellowship the subject line. If you have questions, please direct them to Kristen.
