The Dance/USA Service Organization membership category is open to organizations whose primary focus is providing service to the field and that meet the following criteria:
- Have not-for-profit, tax-exempt status and are able to show evidence of professional status orientation
- Maintain a paid administrative staff of at least one
- Have been in continuous operation for at least two years
- Maintain an on-going service activity

Members in this category are invited to actively participate in the Service Organizations Council, a Standing Council with representation and voting rights on the Board of Trustees. The council offers opportunities to share best practices and programs, address challenges, create joint programming, garner vital information from specially invited experts, and to network with colleagues from across the country.
To become a member of Dance/USA, simply fill out our online form. You will be added to our database and begin receiving member benefits immediately. The Dance/USA membership year runs from July 1 to June 30. Dues for new members joining in the middle of the year will be pro-rated on a quarterly basis*. Service Organization members may choose to establish a payment plan for their membership dues. All memberships are renewable annually on July 1 and dues are invoiced during the month of May. Membership Dues: $350/year
*For new members joining in the middle of the year, dues are prorated on a quarterly basis. Any payment(s) made on membership dues are non-refundable.
Benefits marked with an * are extended to all permanent employees of the organization. Employees should contact the director of member services to inquire about any of these benefits.

- Visibility on Dance/USA’s website, including a link to your organization’s website
- Quarterly updates on Dance/USA’s activities from Executive Director Amy Fitterer*
- Access to the member-exclusive Service Organization Google Group*
- Participation on quarterly Council Calls to connect with your colleagues to discuss current issues and trends in the field*
- Membership in the Performing Arts Alliance, the premiere advocacy organization for the non-profit performing arts*
- Representation on Capitol Hill and assistance with scheduling visits to federally elected officials*
- Arm yourself with tools to advocate for dance!
- Join our Dance Advocacy Network to increase the sharing of advocacy information, develop tools and resources for effective dance advocacy, and inspire other citizens to advocate for this wonderful art form.
