Each year, Dance/USA invites its dance company members to participate in surveys that collect information regarding programming, operations, and finances. A benefit of membership, these surveys provide its company members with information useful for purposes of planning, benchmarking, and decision-making and permit Dance/USA to gather information that may be suggestive of evolving trends within the larger dance field.
The surveys listed below are conducted by Dance/USA on an annual or biannual basis.
Annual Operations Survey
Conducted for over 20 years, the Annual Operations Survey is the first of two surveys directed at Dance/USA dance company members with budgets of $3,000,000 and greater. This survey collects data on the number of new works, dancer contract weeks, staff size, ticket pricing, audience attendance, building ownership, and other aspects of company operations.
