Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet: CPYB Summer Experience Tour

For the first time, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet is coming to a city near you! Join us to experience a CPYB class taught by our world-renowned faculty and learn about our program. You and your family also have the opportunity to speak in person with CPYB faculty and staff about our 5-Week Summer Ballet Program!

  • The #CPYBsummer Experience Tour is not an audition, but an opportunity experience a true CPYB technique class and an in-person opportunity to learn more about our 5-Week Summer Ballet Program.
  • Prior application to CPYB's 2018 5-Week Summer Ballet Program not required to register for the tour.
  • When student applies for the 5WSBP following the tour, the $40 tour registration fee will be credited toward $85 5WSBP application fee.

Giordano Dance Chicago is holding auditions.  Male and female dancers for the main company must be at least 22 years of age.  Dancers must have a strong ballet and jazz technique.  GDC consists of ten dancers, five men and five women.  Salaried non-union contracts are offered.  Giordano II positions are available starting at 22 years of age.  The company tours nationally and internationally. 

Bring an 8x10 headshot, resume & references, ballet and jazz shoes, and fee (cash only).

IABD Ballet Audition for Women & Men of Color 

Contract Location: Los Angeles, CA 
Audition Date: January 27 & 28, 2018

International Association of Black in Dance (IABD) invites you to the 3rd Annual Audition for Women of Color in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 3:00 PM (PT). Over the last two years, we have been able to introduce many of the young women from all over the world who seek a career in Ballet to ballet companies. In addition, IABD has added an audition for Men of Color, which will take place Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM (PT). 

Both auditions occur at the Lula Washington Dance Theatre Studios (LWDT), 3773 Crenshaw Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90016. For more information about the auditions, click here

In addition, our ballet conversation will take place on Sunday before the Women of Color audition at 12:30 PM at the LWDT studios.

Peabody Conservatory of Music: BFA Dance Program

The Peabody Conservatory of Music introduces a BFA Dance Program that prepares students to be at the forefront of dance innovation through performance, choreographic and critical historical and theoretical exploration. Studying dance at Johns Hopkins University, one of the world’s premier research institutions, gives students the opportunity to make connections between the study of dance, science, technology, and the humanities. Students can take courses in Modern Dance and Ballet technique, somatic approaches to movement and choreography, perform in a pre-professional student dance company, and collaborate with world-renowned guest artists. Verb Ballets is a contemporary ballet company located in Shaker Heights, Ohio (just minutes from downtown Cleveland, Ohio). Verb Ballets presents dynamic programming through bold artistry, unique styles and technical excellence that captivates a broad audience. Verb Ballets is seeking dancers for annual 10-11 month contracts that include fringe benefits and a one week paid vacation. Relocation assistance is available. Must have a strong background in ballet and contemporary technique. Submission must include headshot, resume and a YouTube or Vimeo link showing dancer's abilities. Verb Ballets' Trainee Program is geared for students ages 16 and older who are preparing for a professional dance career.  The Trainee Program seeks to develop young aspiring professional dancers into professional dancers through a carefully and individualized study plan. Trainees participate in company classes and rehearsals while having the opportunity to perform with Verb Ballets during the season and work with guest choreographers. Trainees also work with the company dancers in educational and community outreach activities throughout the year. The personal attention and guidance provided by Producing Artistic Director and Associate Director help to prepare and guide each student for their dance future. Trainees who are invited back for a second year and complete two consecutive years of study in this program will receive a certificate of training upon completion of their second year. This is a tuition based year-round program for a maximum of two years. Students are selected to participate in the Trainee Program by audition. Submission must include headshot, resume and a YouTube or Vimeo link showing dancers abilities prior to audition invitation. Must have a strong background in ballet technique.
