Washington, DC – Dance/USA, the national service organization for professional dance, is pleased to announce its 2019-2020 Board of Trustees. For a complete list of the 2019-2020 Board of Trustees and their biographies, read more here.
Dance/USA’s new Chair of the Board of Trustees is Malik Robinson (executive director, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, Denver, CO).
The Board of Trustees has nominated six new members to serve a three-year term: Debbie Blunden-Diggs (artistic director, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Dayton, OH), Gina Gibney (founder, CEO, and artistic director, Gibney, New York, NY), Dr. Nancy Kadel (orthopedic surgeon, Bend, OR), Jim Leija (deputy director for public experience and learning, The University of Michigan Museum of Art, Ann Arbor, MI), Tamica Washington-Miller (associate director, Lula Washington Dance Theatre, Los Angeles, CA), and Marcus White (founder and creative director, White Werx, Detroit, MI).
Dance/USA’s membership elected four new Council Chairs for a one-year term: Andrew Delicata (president and partner, KMP Artists, Houston, TX), Mollie Haven Miller (executive director, Dance Source Houston, Houston, TX), Iquail Shaheed (artistic director, Dance Iquail, Philadelphia, PA) and Linda Yudin (artistic director, Viver Brasil, Los Angeles, CA), and Interim Council Chair: Linda Shelton (executive director, The Joyce Theater Foundation, New York, NY).
“The new Dance/USA Trustees are a dynamic group of dance leaders from across the country,” said Dance/USA Executive Director Amy Fitterer. “The Board of Trustees is guided by Dance/USA’s vision to inform and inspire a nation where creativity and the field thrive, and we’re excited that there are both new and renewed voices on the Board to amplify this work.”
