Dance/USA Board of Trustees Announces Changes to Membership Dues

Washington, DC – Dance/USA, the national service organization for professional dance, is excited to announce that the organization will cover the cost of dues for current members from July through December 2020. In addition, Dance/USA invites new members to join for only $25, regardless of membership type.

As the dance field navigates the ongoing closures due to COVID-19, Dance/USA is committed to ensuring current members are able to remain in the membership regardless of financial status and new members can join in order to engage with their peer community for problem solving, idea generation, and information sharing.

Current members do not need to take any action at this time.
New members may join for $25 by emailing membership@nulldanceusa.org until December 31, 2020. The $25 will be applied as a credit for when dues become payable in early 2021.

Dance/USA will also launch a Membership Working Group to assess the entire membership fee structure to ensure the fees align with Dance/USA’s values of equity and connectivity. The Membership Working Group will consist of members, nonmembers, Trustees, and staff.

“The COVID-19 pandemic presents Dance/USA with the opportunity to re-assess organizational structures to ensure alignment with our values of equity and connectivity,” stated Dance/USA Executive Director Amy Fitterer. “At its June 2020 meeting, the Board of Trustees approved Dance/USA to use organizational reserves to help cover membership dues for the next six months. We know the dance field is experiencing tremendous financial hardship and dance artists and administrators need peer support networks, federal advocacy, and ongoing information sharing.”
