Kristopher McDowell, CEO & founder of KMP Artists, spends most of his time traveling the world discovering new opportunities for international cultural exchange with an emphasis on performing arts between Asia Pacific and North America. McDowell began his career at seven years old as a performing artist working in musical theatre, contemporary dance, and in his early twenties released a solo album and became a well-known artist within cabaret community in New York City.
Since 2004 McDowell has courageously served the live performing arts industry as a talent manager, producer, and arts consultant for artists, performing arts companies, music and dance festivals as well as major concert events. Prior to starting KMP he served as a talent buyer and curator for a not-for-profit group presenting American music and musicals for six years in California. McDowell has promoted or produced nearly a thousand events worldwide.
Additionally, McDowell teaches arts management courses worldwide on a freelance basis and is a tenured part-time faculty member of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (Bachelor of Fine Arts Program) where McDowell teaches courses to aspiring performers and arts managers. Among his many valued affiliations with leading arts organizations around the globe, including membership in good standing with Dance/USA, the International Society for Performing Arts, Western Arts Alliance, The Asian Cultural Association, Association of Performing Arts Presenters, North American Performing Arts Managers and Agents, and Americans for the Arts. McDowell is also very proud to serve as the Council Chair for Agents & Artist Representatives for Dance/USA.
McDowell trained as a dancer in the prestigious scholarship program at Broadway Dance Center in 1997-98 and went on to receive his formal education in New York at the American Music and Dramatic Academy, Empire State College, and Fordham University at Lincoln Center.back to Board of Trustees.
