Randi Townsend was born and raised on the south-side of Chicago. She began training in dance at the age of three, which molded her present relationship with the arts. Townsend received her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2017 where she received the William McClean Award and the Undergraduate Outstanding Performance Award. Since returning to Chicago after graduation, she has been active in the Urban Dance Community performing at showcases like Carnival Choreographer’s Ball, Urbanite, The One and more. She is currently one of the Co-Administrative Directors for and performing predominantly with the Blu Rhythm Crew, under the leadership of Tanji Harper. When not tending to her two dog babies, Townsend prioritizes traveling and learning about various Black Art disciplines.
