Dance/USA’s new Chair Elect of the Board of Trustees is Michelle Ramos (project director, Vera Institute of Justice, New Orleans, LA). Kim Ondreck Carim (chief financial officer, San Francisco Ballet, San Francisco, CA) is the new Treasurer.
This summer, the Board of Trustees nominated five new members to serve a three-year term: Arthur Espinoza (executive director, DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, Washington, DC), Stanford Makishi (vice president for programming, New York City Center, New York, NY), Kim Ondreck Carim (chief financial officer, San Francisco Ballet, San Francisco, CA), Malik Robinson (executive director, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, Denver, CO), and Mary Verdi-Fletcher (president and founding artistic director, Dancing Wheels Company and School, Cleveland, OH).
Dance/USA’s membership elected four new Council Chairs for a one-year term: Dennis Buehler (executive director, Oregon Ballet Theatre, Portland, OR), Jane D’Angelo (executive director, OhioDance, Columbus, OH), Molly Terbovich-Ridenhour (executive director, San Diego Civic Youth Ballet, San Diego, CA), and Marlana Walsh Doyle (artistic director, METdance, Houston, TX).
“The new trustees are a thoughtful and highly experienced group of leaders from the across the United States,” commented Dance/USA Executive Director Amy Fitterer. “The Board of Trustees is committed to governing Dance/USA in a way that ensures the organization will continue to evolve and better drive our core values of equity, inclusion and diversity. We are excited that the new voices on the Board will help our organization move forward in informed and dynamic ways.”
The following Trustees and Council Chairs rotated off the Board of Trustees this summer: Lucy Bowen McCauley (artistic director, Bowen McCauley Dance, Arlington, VA), Barbara Bryan (executive director, Movement Research, New York, NY), Michael D. Ginsberg (partner, Wright Ginsberg Brusilow, PC, Dallas, TX), Shane Jewell (executive director, Oklahoma City Ballet, Oklahoma City, OK), Virginia Johnson (artistic director, Dance Theatre of Harlem, New York, NY), Andrea Lodico Welshons (executive director, KEIGWIN + COMPANY, New York, NY), Matthew Neenan (founder, BalletX, Philadelphia, PA), Ken Tabachnick (New York, NY), Stephanie Todd Wong (director of performing arts and culture, Asia Society Texas), and Nancy Umanoff (executive director, Mark Morris Dance Group, New York, NY).
